As with everything in life, all good things come to and end, and this is the final post on our trip to Japan.

It was bittersweet to go through all the posts after more than a year. Have a bunch of great memories from this journey, but also feels oddly distant. More distant than before, for some reason. And maybe that’s Japan doing its magic on my brain once again, calling me in.

And just like that, it was our final day in Kyoto. Luckily, we were in for a treat, since Atsuko had invited us to to join her on a car ride through the mountains around Kyoto. By the end of the day, near Shirahige shrine, a beautiful torii emerged from Biwa lake.
