Baby L was born two short months ago, and already she’s taken over our lives.

And I don’t mean that in a daunting, negative way. Sure, there are a lot of sleepless nights, constant worrying, and a mix between crawling uncertainty and spikes of sheer panic.

But parenthood is so much more than that, and we’re just two months in. It’s the most heartening, eye-opening, and pure experience I’ve ever been through. This may sound like a paradoxal proposition, but having someone quite literally dependent on you for survival can be both scary and deeply encouraging. Just looking at her fascinated gaze at this new world can instantly make your day better.

It also brings you a terrific amount of newfound inspiration, desire to create, to make. It might be that you’re watching this tiny little thing evolve so quickly every single hour and day, and that’s the fundamental reminder that time doesn’t wait for anything. And it sure doesn’t go back. Or it might just be that with new life, it comes new hope, new dreams, new visions and paradigms. And all of that ultimately catapults you to try to be a better person.

We’ve all been through major ups and downs in this very short period of time, but I can honestly say I can’t wait for more.
