If there’s a wrong time to post snowy photos is during summer. Well, that’s exactly what I’m doing. I guess it depends on which hemisphere you’re visiting from.
In February we took the family to Austria. I had been to Hallstatt before with Jeff and always wanted to go back and take the fam. We spent a few days in Vienna and then made our way into the picturesque and quaint paradise that is Hallstatt.
Would highly recommend spending a night there if you have the chance to. Its magic comes to life once everyone leaves in the evening and before other groups of tourists come back early next morning. Feeling the town fall into slumber and wake up absorbed by the mountains that surround it is as close to bliss as I’ve experienced.
The kids loved playing in the snow, strolling through town, and getting warm in the cozy indoors. They even built a snowman, called “Snowy” that overnight became “Frosty”.
I took the Zenit 58mm f2 Helios-44M-6 MC with me this time which produces some beautiful and very characteristic images. Far from optically perfect, but much more “human” than the clinical Sony lenses.
