We still couldn’t believe we were back in Japan, but the weather sure made sure we knew about it. The clouds in Korea had been kind to us, protecting us from the sun. But now in Osaka there was no more escaping the blazing hot sphere of fire in the sky.
During this day we kept having to take breaks and hydrate constantly. The first stop was just around the corner from the hotel. The girls had breakfast at Namba Parks, if you can call a huge dessert a breakfast, and the adults had a refreshing beverage while taking in the fresh AC.

After stepping outdoors and realizing the sun was still there we tried to evade it quickly by visiting Kuromon Market, which would give us much needed protection for a while as it’s mostly covered.
You can find all sorts of goodies in this market, but there’s quite a nice section dedicated to homeware and kitchen utensils. There’s also a great selection of street food and sweet delicacies.

We then dragged ourselves to Minami and the Dotonbori district. This is the place for shopping, dining, and entertainment in Osaka. This area extends around the Dotonbori canal and it’s easily recognized in pictures thanks to the timeless Glico man.

We had been collecting an assortment of morsels from small shops and convenience stores, which we then took back to our neighborhood. Right next to the subway exit there was a bench which we claimed for ourselves and where had another of our medley meals. And a much needed rest.

The girls headed back to the hotel while I did a quick shopping run on my own to Tokiwa camera and Super Rajikon. I continued to hydrate throughout because the day wasn’t over yet, and we had something planned for the evening… Stay tuned for the next post!
