I heard about a relatively new restaurant in town called The Decadente and, on Monday, Lena and I tried it out.
The restaurant is located inside The Independente, an also-new Hostel & Suites lodging spot next to Bairro Alto — Lisbon’s most (in)famous night life district.
The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and quite trendy, but discrete and quiet as well, despite having a single open dining room.
The food was stunning: Lena had O Melhor Bife do Miradouro (The Best Steak of Miradouro de S. Pedro de Alcântara) and I had some amazing black pork cheeks, orange sweet potato and watercress with a red wine reduction; all followed by a tomato jam cheesecake.
Service did make a couple of mistakes and we ended up paying for a bottle of wine — which I didn’t notice at the time — when we only had two glasses, but I’m certain we’ll go back and they’ll make up for it.
